Requesting a Dev Kit

Once approved to move forward by your PayPal/Braintree Account Executive, you may request a dev kit, which includes a card reader that can communicate with the Braintree sandbox environment, as well as test cards specially designed for continued testing of card present transactions.

To request a dev kit, reach out to your PayPal/Braintree Account Executive or Solutions Engineer. If you are NOT yet working with an Account Executive, fill out to reach our sales team to get more info.

While you wait for your test kit to arrive:

It is important to note that the sandbox readers that come in the dev kit are not compatible with production environments and also cannot read production cards.

Requirements to receive a Dev Kit

In order to receive a dev kit, you must have a signed NDA in place with PayPal/Braintree, or you must be an existing Braintree merchant. Please discuss this with your PayPal sales rep to ensure you have a signed NDA in place before requesting your dev kit.
